Jethro Tull celebram o 40º aniversário de The Broadsword And The Beast com reedição expandida

O décimo quarto álbum da banda britânica de rock progressivo, Jethro Tull, foi lançado originalmente em 1982.

Os Jethro Tull anunciaram que vão lançar uma reedição de comemoração do 40º aniversário de “The Broadsword And The Beast” (1982). A reedição, que será expandida, contará com oito discos em CD/DVD e uma versão de quatro discos em vinil. As novas versões de “The Broadsword And The Beast” serão lançadas a 1 de Setembro pela Warner Music.

Estas edições do 40º aniversário incluem novas misturas de Steven Wilson, demos, misturas inacabadas, uma gravação ao vivo de 1982 da Alemanha e sessões de 1981 com cinco CDs e três DVDs a formarem a Monster Edition e a edição em vinil de quatro discos. Um livreto de 164 páginas acompanha a história do álbum e acompanha a tour com a banda e a equipa, além de conter uma reprodução do programa da tour de 1982.

«A banda tocou muito bem nele”, lembra o vocalista Ian Anderson. “Acho que isso tem muito que ver com a secção rítmica do Dave Pegg e Gerry Conway, era muito sólida e positiva. A inclusão de Peter Vettese no álbum também foi muito positiva na forma como ele trouxe uma musicalidade pensada para ele. E o Martin fez o que o Martin estava a fazer cada vez melhor ao longo dos anos 80, que era ser um guitarrista incrivelmente bom. Como vejo o “The Broadsword And The Beast” em relação a outros álbuns dos Jethro Tull, pessoalmente eu colocá-lo-ia na metade superior, em termos de existirem algumas músicas realmente boas e uma sensação definitiva de existir um leve regresso a esse estilo mais conceptual, sem ser muito pesado. No geral, acho que a música estava entre as nossas melhores.»
