Joey Jordison, para muitos um dos melhores bateristas dentro das sonoridades mais extremas, faleceu no dia 26 de Julho.
Em comunicado, a família de Joey esclarece que o músico faleceu pacificamente enquanto dormia. Tinha 46 anos.
Nathan Jonas Jordison nasceu em Des Moines, no Iowa, a 26 de Abril de 1975. Tocou em vários projectos até que fundou os The Pale Ones, que mais tarde deram origem aos Slikpnot, tendo gravado os primeiros e fulcrais álbuns, principalmente na estreia homónima, de 1999, e em “Iowa”, de 2001. Em 2013 separa-se da banda, sem nunca ter sido confirmada pelos Slipknot a razão para a sua substituição. Mais tarde, o músico norte-americano tornou público um diagnóstico de mielite transversa, doença neurológica que lhe limitava a capacidade de tocar bateria e que, segundo ele, terá sida essa razão para a sua saída.
Fez ainda parte dos Murderdolls, onde tocava guitarra, The Rejects, Scar the Martyr, Vimic e atualmente integrava o projecto Sinsaenum, tendo sido com eles o último álbum que gravou, “Repulsion for Humanity”, editado em 2018.
São vários os colegas e amigos de profissão que já reagiram a esta morte prematura.
