“Intrigue: Progressive Sounds In UK Alternative Music 1979-89” é uma compilação de Steven Wilson dedicada à música alternativa britânica na era do pós-punk. Será lançada através da Edel/Demon Records a 10 de Fevereiro de 2023.
O conjunto inclui música de uma grande variedade de artistas, tais como Kate Bush, Scott Walker, Japan, XTC, Tears For Fears, Ultravox, Wire, The Cure, Cocteau Twins, Cardiacs, Twelfth Night, No-Man (projecto paralelo de Steven Wilson e Tim Bowness), para além de outros nomes. A box set explora a criatividade, experimentação e o espírito progressivo da música britânica alternativa entre 1979 e 1989.
«Esta é a minha tentativa pessoalmente curada de restabelecer o equilíbrio, e talvez introduzir quaisquer cépticos dos anos 80 à ideia de que o pensamento conceptual e a ambição não se evaporavam subitamente depois do ano 1977… música ambiciosa, estranha e emocionante estava à nossa volta nos anos 80 – se procurássemos nos lugares certos», afirma Wilson.
“Intrigue: Progressive Sounds In UK Alternative Music 1979-89″ apresenta 58 faixas em 4 CDs ou 7 x 12″ LP’s (uma versão editada de 19 faixas 2 x 12” LP também estará disponível). Todos os formatos incluem uma introdução escrita por Steven Wilson e extensas notas de capa de James Nice (Factory Benelux/Les Disques du Crépuscule).
